The Department of Revenue’s Cannabis Control Division provides oversight of marijuana testing laboratories in Montana. The department is responsible for inspections and endorsements of marijuana testing laboratories per the Montana Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act.

- Successful inspection
The department laboratory must be notified when:
- Adulterated marijuana is suspected by laboratory samplers.
- A licensee wishes to change laboratories for re-testing or remediating testing.
- Changes in the scientific director listed on the endorsement.
Fees
An annual laboratory license fee of $5,000 shall be submitted with the licensure application prior to license expiration.
