Commercial property owners will need to report their income and expense data online with ePass Montana by April 15. Electronic reporting is more efficient and accurate.
The department mailed letters to commercial property owners this week requesting they report their rental income and expense information associated with the operation of each of their properties for tax years 2016 and 2017.

We use the collected information, along with information from similar properties, to develop typical rent ranges, expense percentages and capitalization rates that will be used in our income models for the next two-year valuation cycle, 2019-2020.
