Cannabis Control Division April Newsletter

April 5, 2022

Video Surveillance

Each marijuana business shall install a video monitoring system that must, at a minimum:

(a) allow for the transmission and storage, by digital means, of a video feed that displays the interior and exterior of the cannabis establishment; and,

(b) be capable of being recorded as prescribed by the department.

All provisions of ARM 42.39.121 shall be in place by April 1, 2022.

Important Reminders

  • Minors: Minors are not allowed in a dispensary unless the person is a registered cardholder. The cardholder must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
  • Drive-ups: A licensee may not sell or otherwise transfer marijuana or marijuana products through a drive-up window, except that a dispensary may hand-deliver marijuana or marijuana products to a registered cardholder in a vehicle that is parked immediately outside the subject dispensary.
  • Exit Packages: All products purchased must be placed into an exit package – in a sealed bag – before the customer leaves your premises.

Updated Inspector Checklist

We encourage you to review the updated inspector checklist posted on our website for information and requirements for inspections performed at your premises.

The checklist also notes the relevant rules and statutes for each checklist item.

The Importance of Your Timely Response

Did you receive a letter of correction from the department during your application or renewal process?

It is vital to your license status and continued business operations to respond in a timely matter to these letters.

If the required information is not submitted within the prescribed timeframe, you risk losing your license and the ability to operate.
