A County All-Beverages License is used by establishments such as bars and taverns anywhere in a county but not in a city or within five miles of a city.
The license lets you:
- Serve all alcoholic beverages including distilled spirits, wine, and beer
- Apply for gambling
- Be open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- New License Fee
- Application Processing Fee
- Renewal Fee
The application processing fee only applies for original applications and is not applied to renewals.
To apply for this license, you must have a designated bar area.
License Quotas and Limits
Montana limits the number of county all-beverage licenses to one license for every 750 people living in the county.

Apply for a County All-Beverage License using the Alcoholic Beverages – Gambling Operator Combined On-Premises License Application (Form 5), available in our TransAction Portal (TAP).
A county all-beverage license must be renewed every year by June 30.
